If you have decided, for whatever reasons, that you would like to rehome your Labrador, please call one of our Area Coordinators as soon as possible and your call will be given priority.

Procedures

If circumstances allow we prefer to keep the dog within the home environment until the right home is found. This helps to minimise any anxiety. If this is not possible and a dog needs to be removed immediately, we will place him or her in a LRSEC approved kennel or foster home. We will then assess the dog, give any necessary veterinary treatment or training before rehoming in one of our vetted homes.

We will make a convenient appointment to visit you and the dog in their own home environment after which a report will be made concerning behaviour, background, temperament and health which is then passed on to the nearest Area Coordinator.

After assessment, we then aim to unite the dog with the most suitable vetted home from those on the waiting list. Once a home has been found we will then collect the dog, with belongings and take it directly to its new home. After rehoming we continue supervision of the dog with regular calls and/or visits to ensure that that it is settled and happy.

Our main priority is always the Welfare of the Labrador and as such

WE WILL ENDEAVOUR TO HELP ANY DOG.
